Vastu is the ancient science of architecture. It is basically space management keeping directions in mind in such a way that we have blissful dwelling for whatever purpose the building is.

Each building – whether it’s a home, hotel, office or shop; it has a purpose. We use the space for that specific purpose and if the place is not serving well for the purpose then it is not worth it. Vastu gives us the concept of positive and negative energies associated with each direction and how we can align our place so that we are aligned with positive energies. If we are aligned with positive energies, then we get abundance and prosperity in life. On the contrary if negative energies dominate, then the place may become hell or at least not worth its purpose.

Vastu gives concept of direction through its renowned theory of Vastu Purush Mandala. The theory gives direction in which each part of our house should be. The science behind it is the relation of the task being performed by man with respect to different time of the day determined by position of the Sun. Sun is in north east during early morning say 3 am to 6 am hence our prayer room or meditation room should be in the north east direction. Likewise bathroom (not toilet) should be in the east direction so that as we bath we get Sun rays since Sun is in the east between 6 am to 9 am.

In order to get a feel of Vastu, just think of yourself going for shopping. Doesn’t it happens many times that you go to buy something specific. You find it at a shop. Still you keep lingering on in the shop and finally do not buy it. At other times, you do not plan to buy something but somehow as you roam about in a shop, you like something and immediately buy it (impulsive buying). Why this difference of behavior? In first place you wanted to buy something, yet you did not bought. In second case, you bought something which you had not thought of or not planned. Vastu has the answer to this human behavior. In first case the vastu of the shop was not good enough hence sales did not materialized. In second case, the vastu of the shop was too good, its energy synchronizing with the native forcing him to buy the product.
